The IsReads project was founded in Fall 2006 by Adam Robinson and Natalie Minor. The objective of the journal is to put poems in places where people would not expect to encounter them. At busstops and in grocery carts and under rocks and in doorways of abandoned buildings. After poems have been posted around the city in a bunch of places, they are documented on the Internet at IsReads.com. The map page is really a joke because the poems are not affixed to any surface in such a way that you could refer to the map, go to the marked location, and find a poem. The nice thing about the map, though, is that maps are cool and if you look at a map you will have an idea of what a city is like, at least geographically. Starting with Issue 5, IsReads is edited by Adam Robinson of Publishing Genius Press and Peter Cole of Keyhole Magazine. Adam is in Baltimore and Peter is in Nashville. Poems are hung in both Baltimore and Nashville. More cities are in the works. If you would like to get involved by hanging poems in your city, or by submitting a poem to be posted, please email editors -at- isreads dot com.
