about

Baltimore Is Reads is an outdoor poetry journal.  There is a Summer Issue and a Winter Issue.

An outdoor journal is different from an indoor journal in that it cannot be read inside.  The pages of the journal are posted around Baltimore (“The City That Reads”) on light posts, shopping carts, crumbling houses, and other places like that.

This website is the documentation of the journal, but it is not the journal.  Here you can read the poems, but you cannot hear the cars, smell the busted sewer pipes, and feel the mystery of encountering the poem in its printed environment.  It’s the contention of the outdoor journal that, as these details change the reading, they change the poem.

Check out the MAP to get a sense of the city, and what the poems look like out there, in the summer sun.

Adam Robinson edits the journal for the chapbook press, Publishing Genius.  Submission Guidelines can be found at www.publishinggenius.com/submit.html.
